Ghanaian visual artist Sharon Dede Padi, popularly known as Padiki, has made history as the first Ghanaian to achieve the Guinness World Records (GWR) title for the largest leaf-print painting.

The massive work, which spans 54.33 m² (584.8 ft²) and was completed in Accra on 11 July 2025.

The painting, which uses leaf prints, was made to form an image of the Ghana flag, symbolising national pride and cultural identity.

Padiki had earlier attempted another ambitious feat; in March 2024, she completed a 168-hour painting marathon, aiming to set the record for the longest continuous painting session by an individual.

Although the attempt was unsuccessful, it earned wide media attention domestically and internationally.

As CEO of Padiki Art Gallery, Padiki has long championed African art, cultural heritage, and women’s empowerment.

With this achievement, Padiki joins various other Ghanaians, including Roselyn Akosua Mantey, who won the record for longest makeup application (April 2025), and Ace-Liam Nana Sam Ankrah, who made history as the world’s youngest artist at 1 year and 152 days old.
