The Black Galaxies of Ghana host their Nigerian counterparts in the first leg of the final round of qualifiers for the 2025 CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN).

The Black Galaxies have been in camp preparing for the game and defeated Nania FC in their last friendly match before the game.

Coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani is confident of victory and has urged his charges to do everything to grab a win in today’s match.

“The home advantage is crucial. We want to use the energy of our fans to motivate the team. Securing a win in the first leg sets the tone for the second leg, giving us an edge in this tight contest,” Didi Dramani told CAFonline.

Ahead of the match, some former players, including Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu, Anthony Baffoe, and Sam Johnson, went to the team’s training ground to motivate the players.

Legendary Ghanaian footballer Abedi Ayew Pele has also confirmed that he will be at the stadium to support the locally-based players against Nigeria.

The team will return to play the second leg in Nigeria on December 28, 2024, with the winner progressing to the main competition.

The CHAN tournament is set to take place in Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania in 2025.
