Wales national football team will host Ghana national football team for the first time in a senior men’s international when the two sides meet in a friendly at the Cardiff City Stadium on June 2, 2026.
The encounter will also mark the first time an African nation has played a men’s international match in Wales. Head coach Craig Bellamy is expected to lead his side against a strong Ghana squad that could feature key players including Jordan Ayew, Antoine Semenyo, Iñaki Williams and Mohammed Kudus.
Ghana have already secured qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where they are scheduled to face England national football team, Croatia national football team and Panama national football team in the group stage.
For Wales, qualification for the tournament in Canada, Mexico and the United States will depend on the outcome of their play-off campaign later this month. Bellamy’s side will face Bosnia and Herzegovina national football team on March 26, and if successful will meet either Italy national football team or Northern Ireland national football team in the play-off final on March 31.
The fixture forms part of Ghana’s World Cup preparations under head coach Otto Addo, with additional friendlies already scheduled against Austria national football team, Germany national football team and Mexico national football team.
