The Ghana-South Africa Business Chamber has extended support to the Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings Foundation, in what has been described as a true demonstration of Pan-African cooperation and solidarity.

The Member of Parliament for Klottey Korle Constituency, Dr Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, expressed appreciation to the Chamber, commending the initiative as a meaningful example of how African nations can unite to address shared developmental challenges.

“I think it is really a show of true Pan-Africanism because it shows that on the continent, even across borders, we can still support one another, recognizing the difficulties in various deprived communities,” Dr Agyeman-Rawlings said in an interview on October 14, 2025.

She praised the Ghana-South Africa Business Chamber for going beyond the traditional profit-driven focus of business entities to make a tangible social impact in Ghana.

“It is very easy to take positions in the country, make your profits and leave or do something that is just a tick-box exercise without necessarily touching lives. This gesture, however, is very significant it shows a real, tangible friendship between South Africa and Ghana,” she noted.

She highlighted that her foundation primarily focuses on supporting education and healthcare, areas that directly affect the welfare of underprivileged families within her constituency.

She emphasised that the support from the Chamber would go a long way toward improving the living conditions of children in deprived communities.

“There are a lot of children in my constituency who attend creches or play schools and could benefit from some of the materials we have received.

“Many young children don’t even have clothes beyond the single items they own, and this initiative will help bring some dignity to these families,” she said.

Dr Agyeman-Rawlings also commended the Ghana-South Africa Business Chamber for promoting corporate social responsibility (CSR) among its member companies, adding that such initiatives deserve public recognition.

“It is also about bringing awareness to what South African companies in Ghana are doing to make a difference. We need to celebrate companies and individuals who are making real efforts to touch lives. It is easy to think only about profits but to make a tangible difference that is what truly matters.”
