Ghana Athletics Federation has announced the athletics team that will represent the nation at the 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo.

An eight-athlete squad led by sprint sensations Benjamin Azamati and Abdul-Rasheed Saminu was announced on Tuesday, September 9,2025.

Speaking on Joy News, Athletics coach, Elorm Amenakpor set a clear target for Benjamin Azamati, Ibrahim Fuseini, and Abdul-Rasheed Saminu stating,

“My hope is that Ben, Fuseini, and Rasheed at least make it to the semifinals.”

He also added that “Semifinals is one of the most difficult race an athlete can run because only three can qualify to the finals, with the rest becoming the two best losers.”
