Ghana was actively represented at the 17th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Rugby Africa, held in Kampala, Uganda, reaffirming the country’s growing presence in continental rugby governance.

The Ghana Rugby Football Union (GRFU) was represented by its President, Ms. Rafatu Inusah, who joined delegates from 32 member unions at the high-level gathering. Ghana’s participation underscored its commitment to shaping the future direction of rugby administration across Africa.

The AGM recorded significant milestones, with all resolutions passed by a majority of over 50 percent of unions present and eligible to vote, satisfying constitutional quorum requirements. Among the key decisions adopted were a new “fit for purpose” Constitution, the introduction of a North and South regional structure, and the integration of gender diversity safeguards in leadership roles.

The meeting also formalized environmental sustainability as a core objective and reinforced transparency and governance standards among Rugby Africa’s 40 member unions.

Ms. Inusah’s presence highlighted Ghana’s dedication to governance excellence and sustainable development of rugby both domestically and across the continent.
