The Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) projects that 18,748 jobs will be created by foreign direct investment (FDI) projects registered in 2025.
The jobs are expected to come from 254 new investment projects registered during the year, once the projects become fully operational.
This is contained in the 2025 Annual Investment Report released by the GIPC.
Ghanaians are expected to take up 90.3% of the projected jobs, while non-Ghanaians will account for the remaining 9.7%.
Ghana recorded US$2.62 billion in FDI inflows in 2025, according to the report.
The investments covered 245 new projects and existing companies, with new investment projects accounting for the majority of the inflows.
The report said significant capital injections were recorded in the petroleum and free zones sectors.
China topped the list of countries by number of projects with 70, followed by India with 22, Nigeria with 10, the UAE with nine and the United Kingdom with eight.
In terms of investment value, the Cayman Islands led with US$500 million, followed by China with US$486 million.
The Greater Accra Region recorded the highest number of projects, with 143, while the Ashanti Region recorded 18 projects valued at US$15.99 million.
The Western Region recorded nine projects, while the Eastern Region recorded three.
The report shows that 70.72% of the registered projects were wholly foreign-owned, while 29.28% were joint ventures.
GIPC is projecting further growth in foreign investment, with FDI expected to reach US$2.8 billion in 2026.
The Centre expects inflows to rise further to US$3.1 billion in 2027.
