The Ghana Police Service volleyball teams have officially commenced their campaign in the prestigious CAVB Zone III Volleyball Tournament at the Borteyman Sports Complex on Saturday, March 1, 2026.

The tournament, hosted by Kalibi Volleyball Club, has attracted top clubs from across the sub-region, setting the stage for highly competitive encounters.

The Police Men’s Volleyball Team made an impressive start, securing a commanding 3–0 victory over Dynamic Volleyball Team in the second match of the day. The dominant performance demonstrated the team’s preparedness, coordination, and determination to compete at the highest level.

In another fixture, El-Wak United faced Finance VC but fell short, losing three sets to one.

The opening ceremony followed immediately after the matches and was attended by several distinguished personalities, including the Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams; COP Seidu Iddi, Director-General of Research and Planning; Ali Yaro, President of CAVB Zone III; George Tetteh, President of the Greater Accra Volleyball Association and Dr Austin Luguterah, Chairman of the Local Organising Committee and Vice President of the Ghana Volleyball Association.

Also present was ASP Ms. Bernice Timbilla, Director of Sports of the Ghana Police Service, among other notable guests.

Prior to the start of their respective matches, ASP Bernice Timbilla addressed both the male and female teams, urging them to uphold discipline, teamwork, and resilience throughout the competition.

Later in the evening, the Police Ladies Volleyball Team faced the host side, Kalibi Volleyball Club, in their opening match at 6:00 p.m. Despite a spirited effort, the Police Ladies lost 3–0. The team, however, remains focused and determined to bounce back strongly in their next fixture.

The Police Men’s Team has no scheduled match on March 2, 2026. However, the Police Ladies Team will return to action against the Army Ladies at 2:00 p.m. on the same day, with high hopes of securing their first win of the tournament.
