Ghana’s Black Satellites are just one win away from securing a spot at the 2025 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) after advancing to the semi-finals of the WAFU B Championship in Togo.

This tournament serves as a qualification route for WAFU teams aiming for the 2025 U-20 AFCON. The top two teams, the finalists, will automatically qualify for the prestigious competition, meaning Ghana is just one step away from booking their ticket.

Ghana last featured at the U-20 AFCON in 2021 in Mauritania, where they lifted the trophy. After missing out two years ago, the Black Satellites look poised to make a strong comeback this time.

The team secured their semi-final spot with a 1-1 draw against host nation Togo on Wednesday. Ghana will now face the runner-up of Group A, which could either be Nigeria or Ivory Coast.

The Black Satellites kicked off their campaign with a 2-2 draw against Benin, salvaging a point through a late penalty, followed by a solid 2-0 win over Niger before their draw with Togo.
