The Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams believes that the FIFA World Cup can be stagged in West Africa.
According to Kofi Adams who praised FIFA’s approach of allowing countries to co-host the expanded World Cup, this new format reduces the significant financial burden on the host nations.
He commended Morocco’s bid of co-hosting with Spain and Portugal for the 2030 edition while stating that West African countries can also do same to bring the Mundial closer to home.

Kofi Adams mentioned Ghana, Nigeria and Ivory Coast can also come together like their peers in other parts of the world to host the biggest sporting event on the planet.
“Previous World Cups that we have participated in were hosted by single country and this is the first time three countries are going to host the tournament. And it looks like FIFA is adapting this style because Morocco, Portugal and Spain are also going to host the 2030 edition.”
“2034 is also adapting the same style. So maybe the next one will be Ghana, Nigeria and Ivory Coast coming together to host the World Cup and will be good. We together with Nigeria and Ivory Coast who have already invested heavily in infrastructure because they hosted an AFCON recently can also ask for that right,” Kofi Adams.
