Ghana midfielder Majeed Ashimeru is on the verge of joining RAAL La Louvière on a six-month loan from Anderlecht.

The 28-year-old has signed his contract and is scheduled to complete other formalities on Friday, per Flashcore. The move is said to be aimed at securing regular first-team football for the remainder of the season.

Ashimeru has yet to feature for Anderlecht’s senior side this campaign, having struggled with a muscle injury last season.

Since his recovery, he has appeared four times for the club’s U23 squad, scoring once, but has found opportunities limited at the first-team level.

Seeking consistent playing time, Ashimeru has opted for RAAL over clubs in Denmark, Turkey, and Belgium, prioritising a familiar league and proximity to family.

Anderlecht will cover his full salary during the loan spell, allowing Ashimeru to focus entirely on regaining fitness and form ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

With 12 caps for the Black Stars since debuting in 2021 and participation at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, regular minutes are crucial for maintaining his international credentials.

At RAAL, Ashimeru is expected to link up with fellow Ghanaian Jerry Afriyie. The newly promoted side currently sits 13th in the Jupiler Pro League and is battling to secure its top-flight status.

Ashimeru’s arrival brings both experience and quality to the squad, and his presence could prove pivotal in helping RAAL avoid relegation while allowing him to re-establish himself as a key figure for Ghana ahead of the global stage.
