Ghana international Bernard Mensah endured a difficult outing as he was sent off during Al-Nasr’s defeat to Al-Wasl in the United Arab Emirates Pro League on Saturday.

The former Black Stars midfielder started the crucial round-six clash at the Zabeel Stadium but was shown a straight red card before the halftime break, cutting short his involvement.

Al-Wasl took the lead in the 26th minute through Adryelson before Ali Saleh doubled the advantage for the home side.

Playing with ten men in the second half following Mensah’s dismissal, Al-Nasr managed to pull one back in the 53rd minute through Abdoulaye Toure, but it was not enough as the game ended 2–1 in favour of the hosts.

The 31-year-old, who previously played for Atlético Madrid, joined Al-Nasr during the summer transfer window on a two-year deal.

Since joining the club, Mensah has made four appearances in the UAE Pro League without registering a goal or an assist.
