GMet has predicted favourable weather condition for the Black Stars match against Comoros in Accra

The Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet) has issued a weather alert as the Black Stars prepare to face Comoros in a crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier at the Accra Sports Stadium tonight at 7:00 PM GMT.

With less than an hour to kick-off, GMet in a forecast update for Sunday, October 12, 2025, provided key updates for football fans and residents across the country.

According to the latest report by the agency, a westward-moving rainstorm is expected to affect the southern half of Ghana, including the Greater Accra region, from this evening into the night.

Moderate thunderstorms are also anticipated to persist in the Eastern, Oti, Volta, and Ashanti regions.

Despite a forecast of mostly cloudy weather during the match, GMet assured that conditions will be favourable in the national capital for the fixture.

“The rainstorm mentioned in the earlier weather warning is still moving westward and is expected to affect the southern half of the country from this evening into the night. Meanwhile, moderate thunderstorms or rain will continue to affect Eastern, Oti, Volta and Ashanti regions. Mostly cloudy conditions are expected over the capital city tonight with a chance of slight rain or drizzle. The weather should, however, be generally favorable for the Black Stars match, just remember to take an umbrella along, as slight rain is still possible,” GMet said.

The alert follows an earlier rainstorm warning by the agency in which residents in low-lying flood-risk areas were urged to be vigilant.
