Abla Dzifa Gomashie, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts Abla Dzifa Gomashie, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts

Abla Dzifa Gomashie, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, has reiterated that Ghana remains open to foreign direct investment in the tourism sector.

She stated that the country is always ready to welcome investments that align with its tourism vision and national development agenda.

The minister made this known during a meeting with a delegation from the Tourvest Integrated Tourism Group to discuss potential collaborations and unveil a major investment drive in Ghana’s tourism sector.

The discussions centred on Tourvest’s operational philosophy, authentic Ghanaian storytelling, and the delivery of immersive guest experiences at tourist centres.

Madam Gomashie expressed keen interest in deepening collaboration with Tourvest, particularly in areas such as tourism infrastructure development, job creation, and capacity building.

She urged the delegation to expedite their proposed investment in the Ghanaian tourism industry to ensure it benefits the local population.

Luuhengo Neswiswi, leader of the Tourvest delegation, shared successful initiatives from other African countries, highlighting the importance of cultural integrity and community engagement.

He noted that Tourvest’s approach prioritises the hiring of local staff, the implementation of social impact initiatives, and the execution of community development projects.

He emphasised the need for continuous open communication as both parties work towards establishing Ghana as a centre of excellence for sustainable, culturally grounded tourism that empowers communities.
