German-based Ghanaian artiste M Jay has expressed dissatisfaction with the current state of Ghana, describing it as a “bush.”

The musician, who relocated to Germany in 2020, told ZionFelix in an interview that he has no plans of returning to Ghana.

M Jay lamented the country’s declining living standards, particularly emphasising the devastating impact of illegal mining, locally known as “galamsey,” which has polluted water bodies and caused widespread health complications.

“Right now, they’ve turned Ghana into a bush. We love Ghana, but look at how they’ve ruined the country. Galamsey has destroyed our water bodies. I have friends who have died from one complication or another because of it,” he said.

He also addressed the severe economic struggles faced by many Ghanaians, stating that several of his friends have seen their businesses collapse due to the country’s poor economic conditions.

He criticised government officials for what he described as their misuse of public funds, stating, “Ministers disturb us with sirens to go and chop our money.”

Despite his deep affection for his fans in Ghana, M Jay made it clear that he has no intention of returning to the country anytime soon.

“The things the German government has done for me, the Ghanaian government will never do for me,” he asserted.

He also encouraged Ghanaians to take advantage of opportunities to travel abroad, stating that life outside the country might offer better prospects.

“To all those in Ghana, if you get the money and you want to travel abroad, do so,” he concluded.
