President of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt Edwin Simeon Okraku, has arrived in the United States ahead of December 5’s World Cup group draw.

The FA boss, one of many federation heads expected to grace the mammoth event, touched down in Washington to a warm reception from some fans of the Black Stars.

Okraku, the second FA president to lead the Black Stars to the World Cup, is hoping for a favourable draw as Ghana eye an improved performance at next summer’s tournament.

“I expect Ghana gets a good group and I expect us to move to the next level of preparations after the draw. I expect us to do well,” he said in a video shared on social media.

The West Africans have been placed in Pot 4 of the draw and could face some of the big names in the world, including holders Argentina.

Ghana’s last performance at the World Cup saw the Black Stars exit at the group stage after defeat to Uruguay in their final game.

However, most of the players from that team have gained more experience and are expected to make an impact in North America.
