Ghana international Jerome Opoku is out of danger after suffering a scary head injury

Ghana international Jerome Opoku is out of danger after suffering a scary head injury in a Turkish Super Lig clash between Istanbul Basaksehir and Kocaelispor.

The Black Stars centre-back was forced off with a worrying head injury as his outfit cruised to a narrow victory over their opponent in the much-anticipated clash, held at the Basaksehir Fatih Terim Stadyumu.

Opoku collided with Kocaelispor forward Serdar Dursun in the 9th-minute mark before being substituted in the 22nd-minute after dizzy spells.

Despite the setback, Istanbul Basaksehir managed to secure the three maximum points at stake on home turf on Friday evening.

The rock-solid Ghanaian defender is fine now, but he is currently undergoing standard protocols before being allowed to go home.

Uzbekistan international, Eldor Shomurodov’s last-gasp strike from the spot was enough to secure victory for the home team in the highly-competitive clash.

The 27-year-old Ghanaian centre-back has established himself as a key member of Istanbul Basaksehir’s squad, making eleven appearances in the Turkish Super Lig this season and serving one assist.
