Caleb is Right to Dream Academy graduate

Black Stars right-back Caleb Yirenkyi has been nominated for the Young Player of the Month award in the Danish Superliga.

The 19-year-old starred for FC Nordsjaelland in the month of August, earning him a nomination for the coveted award.

Yirenkyi will, however, face competition from compatriots Prince Amoako Jr., also of FC Nordsjaelland, and Bismark Edjeodji of Vejle Boldklub.

Also on the list are Thomas Jorgensen of Viborg, Clement Bischoff—who recently joined Red Bull Salzburg from Brondby IF—and Hjalte Bidstrup of Viborg.

Yirenkyi, who made his competitive debut for Ghana in the World Cup qualifier against Chad on Thursday, September 4, saw 300 minutes of football, scoring a goal and delivering an assist for FC Nordsjaelland in August.

Fans will vote for the Young Player of the Month, with the winner set to be announced after the international break.

The Right to Dream Academy graduate is expected to feature for the Black Stars in the game against Mali on Monday in Accra.
