The Ghana Cycling Federation has announced its Grand Finale Ride, scheduled for Saturday, April 18, 2026, with cyclists set to journey from Aburi to Accra in a major event to climax the season.

In a statement, the Federation invited the sporting public, cycling enthusiasts, clubs, media, and stakeholders to participate in the ride, which is expected to attract significant interest across the country. The race will commence at 6:30am in Aburi, with riders expected to arrive in Accra from 9:30am.

Following the ride, a closing ceremony will be held from 10:00am to 12:00 noon to mark the end of the cycling season and celebrate participants.

The General Secretary of the Federation expressed optimism about the future of the sport, describing the previous season as successful and expressing hope for an even better campaign this year. He also called for increased sponsorship and support to help develop cycling in Ghana and improve the country’s representation at international competitions.

Meanwhile, participants in the ongoing Velocity Cycling Tour from Tamale to Accra have reached Kumasi, where they paid a courtesy call on the Ashanti Regional Minister.

The Grand Finale Ride is expected to cap off the season on a high note.
