The Ghana Music Rights Organisation (GHAMRO) has announced the commencement of its December 2025 royalty distribution, disbursing a total of GH¢856,700.00 to rights holders across multiple revenue streams.

In a statement dated December 16, 2025, GHAMRO said the distribution covers Digital, Live Performance, Synchronization, Blank Media Levy and General Public Performance royalties.

The organisation described the exercise as a significant milestone in its efforts to ensure fair, precise and technology-driven royalty payments.

“We are excited to begin the distribution of GH¢ 856,700.00 in royalty for December 2025, spanning key revenue streams like Digital, Live Performance, Synchronization, Blank Media Levy and General Public Performance.

“This cycle is significant as it reflects our deepened commitment to a fair, precise and technologically advanced distribution system,” the statement said.

According to the organisation, the integrated system allows for seamless distribution, real-time statements for rights holders and alignment with global best practices,” the body said.

GHAMRO further stated that royalties can only reach the rightful creators when musical works are properly registered, identified and paid for by music users.

“We are building a future where creators are empowered by systems they can trust.

“This progress is powered by partnership and innovation, but its full potential can only be realised when over 90% of Broadcast Networks (Non-compliant users) in Ghana commit to paying royalties,” the statement added.

It also stressed the need for greater compliance, urging broadcast networks and other users to commit to paying royalties to sustain the creative ecosystem.
