The Ghanaian internet community has been shocked by claims that famous social media influencer and blogger Kobby Graham, often known as GH Kobby, allegedly shot and killed his fiancée after a domestic quarrel. The event, which occurred late Monday night at their home in East Legon, has saddened the victim’s family and generated fury on social media.
According to Yen, police sources, the suspect surrendered to authorities at the East Legon Police Station hours after the incident, escorted by his lawyer. According to preliminary findings, the confrontation began as a heated disagreement and escalated into violence. The victim, 26-year-old fashion designer Afia Adutwumwaa, was confirmed dead on the spot by emergency personnel.
The victim’s family, through spokesperson Kwame Asare, expressed their deep grief and sought justice. “Afia was a bright young woman with a full life ahead of her.” “We are devastated by this senseless act of violence and will pursue justice to the fullest extent of the law,” Asare said during an emotional press conference outside the family home in Kumasi.
GH Kobby, who has over 500,000 followers on several social media sites, is known for his lifestyle content and celebrity interviews. His most recent post, taken just hours before the tragedy, showed the couple enjoying a weekend excursion. The sharp contrast between this substance and the catastrophic end has astounded fans.
Domestic abuse advocates used the incident to highlight Ghana’s rising intimate partner violence epidemic. “This is yet another heartbreaking example of how toxic relationships can turn deadly,” said Dr. Esi Cole of the Ghana Domestic Violence Coalition. “We must do more as a society to recognize warning signs and support victims.”
As the investigation continues, the case has been handed to the Ghana Police Service’s Homicide Unit. The culprit is still in custody awaiting arraignment, and memorial plans for the victim are underway. The incident has rekindled national debates around influencer culture, relationship violence, and accountability in the digital age.
