Former Accra Hearts of Oak board member Isaac Tetteh has criticized the timing of Otto Addo’s dismissal as Black Stars head coach, describing the decision as questionable with just over two months to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Speaking to the media, Tetteh, popularly known as “T.T Brothers,” suggested that there may be underlying issues behind the decision taken by the Ghana Football Association. He argued that Addo, who guided Ghana to World Cup qualification, should have been given the necessary support to build a competitive team rather than being made a scapegoat.
“Why should they sacrifice him alone and not the entire GFA?” he questioned, adding that responsibility should extend beyond the head coach to the technical team and football administrators.
Tetteh further expressed concern about the impact of the timing on team morale, warning that it could disrupt player confidence and unity ahead of the tournament.
He also noted that several coaches have lost their jobs with the national team over the years, while the administration has remained unchanged.
Reports indicate that Addo could receive a compensation package of around $500,000 following his dismissal, which has sparked mixed reactions among fans, players and analysts.
