The Vice President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Mark Addo, and General Secretary Prosper Harrison Addo joined leaders from the West African Football Union Zone B (WAFU B) for a strategic meeting with the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to discuss initiatives aimed at advancing football development in the sub-region.

The high-level engagement took place on the sidelines of the 47th CAF General Assembly in Cairo and was attended by CAF President Dr Patrice Motsepe, 2nd CAF Vice President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, WAFU B President Ibrahim Musa Gusau, CAF General Secretary Veron Mosengo-Omba, and CAF Director for Member Associations Sarah Makuna.

Dr Motsepe praised WAFU B’s contribution to African football and reaffirmed CAF’s commitment to supporting growth through innovation and collaboration. Discussions centered on youth and school football, women’s football development, refereeing and VAR training, coaching education, and infrastructure support.

The GFA delegation underscored the importance of expanded youth and women’s competitions, improved refereeing and coaching programmes, and fair representation in AFCON qualification formats.

The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment to deepen cooperation among CAF, WAFU B, and member associations to foster sustainable football development across West Africa.
