The Ghana Football Association (GFA) have officially charged Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom, owner of Elmina Sharks, with misconduct for his involvement in the chaos that unfolded during the Division One League match between Elmina Sharks and Swedru All Blacks at the Dr. Nduom Sports Complex on Sunday, February 16, 2025.
The incident occurred when Dr. Nduom entered the field without permission to protest a penalty decision made by the referee.
His actions led to a temporary halt in the game and sparked a strong response from some fans, players and team officials who attacked match officials, raising concerns about the conduct of club owners during matches.
The GFA allege that Dr. Nduom incited players, team officials, and fans to confront the referees.
Reports suggest that he also used social media to escalate tensions, urging supporters and club officials to challenge the match officials.
As a result, Dr. Nduom now faces serious charges for violating the Division One League Regulations and the GFA Disciplinary Code. He has until Wednesday, February 19, 2025, to formally respond to the allegations.
