Kumawood actress, Maame Serwaa, has issued a stern warning to critics, urging them to refrain from spreading false rumours and making negative comments about her.

In an interview on Accra FM, Maame Serwaa expressed frustration with the constant negativity surrounding her, particularly the misconception that she is disrespectful due to the roles she plays in movies.

She clarified that these rumours are unfounded and has asked people to get to know her personally before passing judgment.

“I have been hearing rumours on social media that I am disrespectful. Get to know and experience the Maame Serwaa before you pass any comment out there… Some people deliberately spread false rumours about people just because they hate them,” she said.

The actress also addressed the stereotype that many women in the creative arts industry rely on men for their success.

“Also, a lot of people out there feel like every girl in the entertainment industry depends on men for survival… I don’t have a car, and immediately I buy one, people will start saying that it was a man who bought it for me.

“We all cry and shed tears. Sometimes we don’t even have the motivation to get out of our beds. But because we have some sense of responsibility to inspire people, we put ourselves together. So, people should stop saying that we also post videos to attract men,” she added.
