German-born Ghanaian defender Kwabe Appiah Schulz emerged as the hero for SV Sandhausen on Saturday, scoring a decisive goal to help his team secure victory over FC 08 Homburg in the German lower-tier league.

The 27-year-old centre-back played a pivotal role, contributing to his team’s 1-0 away victory over their opponents in the Round 17 clash, held at the Waldstadion.

Kwabe Schulz wasted no time, scoring the match-winner in the 8th minute from close range amidst the scramble, with the visitors controlling the game for long stretches.

After the break, Homburg pressed for an equaliser, hitting the crossbar and playing with a man advantage, but SVS defended resolutely and deservedly took three points back from Saarland.

The German-Ghanaian defender has been outstanding for SV Sandhausen in the fourth-tier league this season, scoring one goal and delivering two assists in 16 appearances so far.

Kwabe Schulz joined the club in the summer and has swiftly established himself as a key member of the team. With his contract expiring in 2027, the defender is expected to play a major role for the club.
