Gabby Otchere-Darko, a prominent member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has apologized to former Electoral Commission Chairperson Charlotte Osei for falsely accusing her of acquiring state land. The controversy started when Otchere-Darko clashed with North Tongu MP Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa over allegations of questionable land acquisitions near Asaase radio station.
Otchere-Darko had claimed that Osei’s property near Asaase was acquired by displacing a public servant, but Osei quickly denied this, stating that she purchased the land privately in 2007 from a seller named Berchie. Osei clarified that she had never benefited from public lands and called out Otchere-Darko for spreading misinformation.
Following Osei’s response, Otchere-Darko acknowledged his mistake, revealing that Osei had privately messaged him to clarify the details of the land transaction. He admitted that her land near Asaase was acquired through a legitimate private purchase in 2007 and issued a public apology for any errors made in his earlier remarks.
