Just days after the Kumasi High Court officially dismissed the injunction application filed by Akosua Serwaa Fosuh to halt the funeral of the late legendary musician Daddy Lumba, photos of beautifully designed funeral clothes in his honour have surfaced online.

Social media platforms have been flooded with images of three distinct funeral cloth designs meant for Daddy Lumba’s funeral.

The designs, which are black, white red and gold, each bear symbolic prints celebrating the life and legacy of the music legend.

Fans across the country have already started expressing admiration for the creativity and cultural elegance in the outfits.

The iconic musician, born Charles Kwadwo Fosu, passed away on July 26, 2025, and his family had earlier announced that the final funeral rites would be held on December 6, 2025, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.

However, the event was nearly delayed after Akosua Serwaa, who is claiming to be the only legal wife of the late musician filed an interlocutory injunction seeking to stop the funeral until the court determined that she was the only lawful spouse entitled to perform the widow’s rites.

The court, presided over by Justice Dorinda Smith-Arthur, threw out the application on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, explaining that under Ashanti customary law, it is the extended family, known as the abusua, that has the traditional authority to decide how and when a deceased person’s funeral is performed.

The ruling has since given the family the green light to proceed with all funeral arrangements as originally planned.

Already, the Abusuapanyin of Daddy Lumba’s family, Mr. Kofi Owusu, has said the court’s ruling has reaffirmed his authority to organise the funeral.

He has also indicated that the family will proceed according to their earlier plans and timelines. He also used the opportunity to appeal to the media and the general public to stop spreading false reports and insults against him and his family.
