The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced an improved financial package for Ghanaian referees for the 2025/2026 season.
The GFA noted that this initiative is part of a broader strategy to enhance local football and motivate referees to deliver top-quality officiating, reducing the incidence of poor decisions during matches.
Speaking at the 31st Ordinary Session of Congress on August 12, 2025, GFA President Kurt Okraku said the reviewed conditions demonstrate his administration’s commitment to improving local football standards.
“Our referees will take centre stage in terms of their welfare going into the new season. The Executive Committee, having reviewed all operational needs, has approved new working conditions for our referees in the GPL, DoL, and WPL,” he stated.
