President of the Foundation of Concerned Arts Professionals (FOCAP), Kojo Preko Dankwa

President of the Foundation of Concerned Arts Professionals (FOCAP), Kojo Preko Dankwa, has urged the government to move beyond announcements and begin delivering on its promises to the creative industry.

According to FOCAP President Kojo Preko Dankwa, while the recent launch of the Black Star Experience is commendable, it is only a small step in addressing the broader needs of the sector.

Speaking in an interview on AsaasePa, he stated that the creative community is still waiting for action on several key commitments.

“You said you were going to launch the Black Star Experience in 120 days, and you did, well done. But there are low-hanging fruits that can be implemented now, and we are reminding you to get to work on them,” Kojo Preko said.

FOCAP is calling for immediate action in areas including tax incentives for creatives with TIN numbers, reduced rent for creative workspaces, pension plans through SSNIT, and the establishment of a digital terrestrial TV channel to broadcast pay-per-view creative content.

“These are not too technical. They are easy to do. The creatives need to feel the impact of your promises,” he emphasised.
