Ghanaian music producer Fred Kyei Mensah, widely known as Fredyma, says the spirit of Daddy Lumba appeared to him in a dream and gave him a mission to confront a media figure tarnishing the musician’s name.

Sharing the experience on Onua ShowTime, Fredyma recounted seeing Lumba standing before his studio, clothed entirely in white.

“Lumba appeared in my dream one day. He was standing in front of my studio, dressed in all white. He mentioned someone’s name and said that person was in the media tarnishing his image over a certain issue. He told me to go and warn the person to stop,” Fredyma recalled.

He said Lumba identified a particular individual spreading false claims about his passport issue, distorting the truth about the singer’s personal story.

Fredyma expressed concern about how events surrounding Lumba’s death are being handled, saying social media has become a breeding ground for misinformation instead of honouring the musician’s life and legacy.

Daddy Lumba passed away on July 26, 2025, at the Bank Hospital in Accra. His burial, originally planned for December 6, 2025, has been postponed.

Following a meeting at the Otumfuo Saamanhene Palace on November 10, 2025, the Manhyia Palace announced that the final funeral rites will now take place on December 13, 2025. A new funeral committee, chaired by Dadiesoabahene, was formed to coordinate the arrangements.

Meanwhile, Lumba’s elder sister, Ernestina Fosu, has called for a postmortem, raising concerns about possible foul play. She asked that the funeral be delayed until the results determine the true cause of her brother’s death.
