Legal practitioner Frank Davies has dismissed as “baseless” the petition alleging misconduct by former Attorney General Godfred Yeboah Dame during the Ato Forson ambulance trial.
The petition was filed by Richard Jakpa, Director of Special Operations at the National Security Secretariat, who was also involved in the controversial ambulance procurement case.
Speaking to the media on Monday, October 6, 2025, Davies asserted that the matter is not new and has already received a judicial pronouncement.
“A matter which had received judicial pronouncement. This Jakpa thing, is this the first time you’re hearing it? This complaint had already been made and received a judicial pronouncement. Is it not obvious what the implications are?” he said.

Godfred Dame arrived at the CID headquarters accompanied by about seventy lawyers and leading members of the New Patriotic Party, including his former deputy Alfred Tuah-Yeboah and former parliamentary candidate Kojo Frempong.
In the petition dated July 23, 2025, Richard Jakpa alleged that the former Attorney General had attempted to influence his testimony in court by advising him to respond in a manner that would incriminate Dr Forson.

“He suggested that during cross-examination I testify not based on matters personally perceived and understood by me, but based on his suggestions,” the petition stated.
Richard Jakpa further claimed that Dame instructed him to obtain a false medical excuse to delay his court appearance until the Attorney General returned from an overseas trip, a request he said he “declined” as “criminal, dishonest, and unethical.”
The petition describes the former Attorney General’s conduct as an attempt to “fabricate evidence and mislead the court” and calls on the CID to investigate the matter thoroughly.
