President Donald Trump joined Fox News host Larry Kudlow for a wide-ranging phone interview on Sunday Morning Futures, hitting on a flurry of subjects.
Towards the end of the nearly half-hour-long interview with a raspy-voiced Trump, Kudlow had to cut the President off, saying ‘I got to let you go,’ before adding ‘I’m going to get into trouble.’
Trump responded by saying, ‘Larry, we’re the hottest country anywhere in the world,’ before praising the host.
‘You just got good ratings, so they’re not going to bother you,’ to which Kudlow responded with a nervous chuckle.
‘Thank you, sir, safe travels today, and give em hell on the campaign trail,’ Kudlow added, trying once more to conclude the segment.
Trump then continued to lay on the praise, telling Kudlow, ‘I’m proud of you.’
Once again attempting to smooth over the end of his interview after the President hung up the phone, Kudlow chuckled and noted that he and Trump are ‘old friends’ and that he ‘loves talking to him.’ Fox News has been contacted for comment on the exchange.
Earlier in the interview, Trump shared that he has ‘worked very hard,’ telling Kudlow that he has ‘done 14 rallies in 9 days,’ before admitting, ‘it’s a lot,’ which may offer an explanation for the raspy voice he appeared to have during the segment.

In a pair of eyebrow-raising moments, Trump shared that he had been praised by the leaders of China and Saudi Arabia for the work that he has done in America.
‘The king, I tell you, the king of Saudi Arabia said, “You know, you were a dead country, and now you have the hottest country in the world,”‘ Trump told Kudlow.
Trump also told Kudlow that when China’s President Xi Jinping visited the White House last month, he was also full of praise for the Commander-in-Chief.
‘Yes, President Xi was here two weeks ago. He said, “You have the hottest country in the world. The job you’ve done is incredible,”‘ Trump said of the compliment he allegedly received.
Trump also ranted and raved about a slew of the candidates he is campaigning for ahead of November’s midterm election.
The President praised Republican US Senate nominee and Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton as ‘the greatest attorney general in Texas and one of the ‘the few greatest in the whole country’ while railing on his Democratic opponent James Talarico, whom he has nicknamed ‘Talafreako.’
Trump claimed that Talarico is against the oil and gas industry, as well as firearms and meat. The US Senate seat in Texas is rated as a ‘toss-up’ by the Cook Political Report, and was formerly rated to ‘lean Republican,’ indicating a shift towards Democrats.
Moving to Michigan, Trump praised Republican US Senate nominee Mike Rogers, saying that he will ‘be a great senator .. good on the issues,’ and even called him ‘apple pie,’ seemingly a nod to how much he captures the essence of Americana when compared to his Democratic opponent Abdul El Sayed.
El-Sayed, a son of Egyptian immigrants who could be the first Muslim US Senator, is running on a platform that includes ideas such as Medicare for All. Michigan’s US Senate seat is rated as a ‘toss up’ by the Cook Political Report.
