Former Minister of Youth and Sports, Mustapha Ussif, has revealed that he has been a victim of the ongoing post-2024 election violence.

Ussif, during a parliamentary sitting on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, disclosed that some youth of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) invaded his house.

Narrating the unfortunate event, he said that he was attacked after purchasing electricity poles meant for a project in his constituency.

“Just yesterday, some violent NDC youth invaded my house just because I personally purchased some wooden electricity poles that I was going to use to support some communities within my constituency,” he disclosed on the floor of parliament.

He added that a similar act occurred at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, where National Sports Authority (NSA) staff were sacked from their offices.

“Such ugly scenes have been repeated in many institutions, including security installations and also at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium. The NSA staff were all sacked from their offices”

He condemned the act, emphasizing that such acts are a threat to the security of the country.

“These acts of violence are a serious threat to our country. President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo handed over a peaceful country to President John Dramani Mahama, and he (Mahama) has to make sure that if he cannot improve the security situation, he should try and maintain what Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo handed over to him.”

Ghana has recorded several violent incidents after the 2024 general elections, where some youths have vandalized several offices.
