• Magpies skipper and Triple J star’s romance is going strong
  • Recently celebrated a milestone in their relationship

Darcy Moore has marked a milestone in his romance with girlfriend Dee Salmin by sending her a romantic – and very woke – message to celebrate the occasion.

The Collingwood skipper’s and the Triple J star were first rumoured to be an item when they were spotted holding hands at a musical premiere in Melbourne in August 2023.

They confirmed the romance when they stepped out for the Brownlow Medal ceremony that year, and were also together at the ARIA Awards.

Now Salmin has posted an image of the Magpies star’s message on Instagram in a post captioned ‘150 days of January’, which features several photos of her working for the broadcaster and enjoying some downtime with Moore.

The pic shows flower petals laid out in a heart shape on a bed with a pair of towels twisted into the shape swans with their beaks meeting.

In front of the swans is a card reading: ‘Happy anniversary to my beautiful feminine force. Love from DM.’

His words drew praise from Salmin’s followers, with one commenting, ‘Darcy Moore is a good egg!’ and another adding, ‘The card where can I get a mans like this’.

The couple had a busy month, taking in the action at the Australian Open, with Salmin also helping present Triple J’s Hottest 100 countdown and Moore slogging through preseason training with the Pies ahead of their first warm-up match against Richmond on February 26.

Salmin and Moore made headlines in July last year when her very politically correct reason for not living with him was revealed on the ABC show Ladies, We Need To Talk… Back.

‘I don’t live with my partner at the moment and we have such different, independent, busy lives,’ she said.

‘We get to have so much of what we had when we were still single in our relationship.

‘But I wonder how much you can actually upkeep that when you do end up living together.

‘So much of it is hetero-dynamic learnt behaviours that you might fall into.’

She was backed up by the show’s host, TV star turned radio personality and author Yumi Stynes, who said living together would lead to ‘domestic drudgery’ that’s ‘not sexy’ and asked if Salmin thought all couples should live separately.

‘I’m going to be doing it for as long as possible,’ Salmin said.

‘I also said to my partner we are going to have separate bedrooms [if/when they live together].’

Footy fans were astounded by the explanation and one online troll wrote, ‘Darcy has money, fame and elite football skills, yet traded his gonads to a feminist witch.’

Salmin picked that comment up and ran with it, posting it to social media then changing her Instagram bio to call herself ‘a gonad stealing feminist witch’.

Moore and his teammates will enter the new season on a mission to make up for a very disappointing 2024 campaign that saw them fall far short of defending the flag they won in 2023.

The Pies fell into a hole early as they dropped their first three games, then endured a four-game losing streak from round 16 to see them finish just outside the eight on percentage.

Collingwood – who had been criticised for fielding an ageing side in 2024 – will be bolstered by No.47 draft pick Joel Cochran, No.56 pick Will Hayes, and the big addition of Dan Houston.

The dual All Australian star should provide their defence with a big lift after he was traded from Port Adelaide in a three-way deal.
