After reportedly getting her pregnant, a teenage Senior High School (SHS) student has accused Abubakar Osman, a National Democratic Congress (NDC) spokesperson in the Ejura constituency, of leaving her. The child told her story on Lawson TV in Kumasi, describing how she and Osman first connected and the difficulties she has endured since.
The young woman claimed to have met Osman at a political gathering on the grounds of her school, according to YEN. Several intimate experiences resulted from the two of them developing a connection. “We occasionally have the affair on the motorbike in the bush, and he rides his motorcycle to our school,” she revealed in the interview.
She claimed that a pregnancy was the outcome of these interactions. Osman allegedly refused parental responsibility for the child, citing questions around paternity. She has begged him to accept responsibility on numerous occasions, but the matter has not been settled.
The student said that she has been left to deal with the pregnancy and its aftereffects on her own, which has left her feeling disappointed and frustrated. “I have tried everything to make him accept responsibility, but he keeps refusing,” she said.
The young woman wanted to get justice and force Osman to be the father of her child, so she decided to make the situation public. Since a video clip of her interview was circulated on social media, the incident has generated a lot of online emotions.
The allegations against Osman have raised eyebrows, with many questioning the behavior of political figures in positions of influence. As of now, Osman has not publicly addressed the accusations.
Social media users reacted strongly to the allegations. One user, @AlexJr4190, commented, “Ladies, value yourselves; this bush affair thing is unacceptable.” Another, @Nanaezze, remarked, “Small politics, and see how secrets are spilling out. What if it was a higher position?”
This case has drawn attention to issues of accountability and exploitation within relationships involving individuals in positions of power. It also serves as a reminder of the need for justice and responsibility in such situations.
Efforts to reach Abubakar Osman for his side of the story have been unsuccessful. Meanwhile, the young lady continues to call for justice and accountability.
