Media personality, Paul Adom-Otchere, has urged Ghanaian politicians to focus on addressing core policy challenges rather than resorting to divisive tactics, warning that such practices could pose serious risk to the country’s political space.

Speaking on Metro TV’s Good Morning Ghana on Friday, August 22, 2025, Adom-Otchere stated that many politicians fail to tackle substantive policy issues and instead take advantage of situations for political gain.

“When politicians don’t want to put in the work to address the hard-core policy issues, then you find them dabbling in politicking to score political points,” he explained.

He cautioned against turning tragedies like plane crashes or drunk driving accidents into political talking points.

Adom-Otchere also raised concerns about false narratives being deliberately crafted to damage reputations.

“If they say that we saw this politician and he nearly knocked down a lady; then he is very lucky. Did he knock down the lady? No, he didn’t but he nearly. But propagandists will capitalise on such and say that let’s go and say, ‘he knocked down the lady’,” he said, urging for truthfulness in political communication.

He called for certain matters to be treated as national concerns rather than political tools.

“There are certain happenings that we must tackle devoid of politics and settle it as a national issue and move on,” he stated.
