Five talented young footballers from Legionary Soccer Academy, based in Asebu-Agyendam in Cape Coast, have arrived safely in Turkey to further their careers with professional clubs, marking another significant milestone for the fast-rising academy in the Central Region.

The players include, Meeka Alidu Salam and Caleb Agbovi Ofoe, both defenders, Mathew Kofi Nkrumah, a midfielder, Gideon Kwaku Bonsu, a winger and Patrick Boadu Peprah, a striker are expected to undergo assessments and training sessions as they seek to impress club officials and secure professional contracts in Europe.

Their latest move represents the third batch of players from the academy to secure international opportunities outside Ghana, underscoring the institution’s growing reputation for grooming and exporting young talent.

While in Turkey, the players will engage with professional sides including İkas Eyüpspor and Kocaelispor, where they will have the opportunity to showcase their abilities at a competitive level.

The exposure is expected to provide a valuable platform for their development and possible long-term deals.

The international breakthrough has been attributed to the vision and dedication of the academy’s Chief Executive Officer, Bright John Nyarko, popularly known as “Football Doctor Bright111z.”

Under his leadership, Legionary Soccer Academy has consistently created pathways for young players to transition from grassroots football into professional environments abroad.

Currently, the academy competes in the Central Region Division Two League (Zone 3) with its first team, while its youth side participates in the Abura Asebu Kwamankese District Colts League.

Management has also announced that recruitment is ongoing for young players in the U-13, U-15, U-17 and U-19 categories as part of efforts to strengthen its talent development programme.

The development has been described as a proud achievement for the academy and the Asebu-Agyendam community, as five more young Ghanaian footballers take a major step toward professional careers on the European stage.
