In a letter dated October 16, the Ghana Education Service (GES) verified that first-year SHS students (2024 BECE graduates) will report on October 30 to begin their academic year.

The GES published 2024–2025 academic calendar for second cycle schools nationwide will begin with this. On Wednesday, October 30, 2024, all incoming students for single-track and transitional schools, as well as all continuing students in single-track schools, are expected to report, according to the GES. This indicates that prospective pupils should start school on October 30, 2024, pending the results of their Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and their placement in SHS.

This portal previously revealed that students enrolled in SHS1 and SHS2 will leave school on October 28 to conclude the 2023–2024 academic year. They will then return the following day to begin Term 1 or Semester 1 of the 2024–2025 academic year. Every student in SHS 1 and 2 will get a promotion on autopilot.
