The final funeral rites of Dr Edward Omane Boamah are currently underway, with preparations at the venue progressing steadily in the Eastern Region.
Videos circulating online show the venue beautifully decorated ahead of the ceremony. Workers were seen arranging chairs, fixing drapes, setting up canopies, and putting final touches in place to welcome mourners.
Many dignitaries, including President John Dramani Mahama, are expected to attend the ceremony to pay their last respects to the former minister, who is remembered for his service and contributions to national development.
Sympathisers have already begun arriving, and the atmosphere reflects both sadness and deep respect as the funeral rites continue.

Dr Omane Boamah was one of the eight people who lost their lives in the tragic Ghana Armed Forces helicopter crash on August 6, 2025. According to reports, the military helicopter was travelling to Obuasi on a national assignment when it crashed, killing all eight persons on board.
The incident shocked the nation. The victims, described as “fallen heroes,” included senior government officials and military officers who were on duty at the time of the crash.
