FIFA has approved the termination of Hearts of Oak striker Hamza Issah’s contract, clearing the way for his immediate transfer to South African club Siwelele FC

The decision, confirmed on Friday, February 13, 2026, follows months of salary disputes between the 23-year-old forward and the Accra-based side, Accra Hearts of Oak. Issah is expected to depart Ghana on Sunday, February 15, to complete the move to the Bloemfontein-based outfit.

Issah initiated termination proceedings in December 2025 after reportedly going unpaid for three consecutive months. His representatives, Prosport International, invoked FIFA’s Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players, which allow contract termination for just cause when salaries remain unpaid for more than two months.

In correspondence to the club and the Ghana Football Association, the agency cited unpaid wages of GH¢5,000 per month between September and November 2025 as a material breach of contract.

Despite the ruling, Hearts are reportedly making last-minute efforts to feature Issah in Sunday’s Ghana Premier League Super Clash against Asante Kotoko at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
