    By KELLY GARINO, US REPORTER

    Published: 11:04 EST, 24 January 2026 | Updated: 11:34 EST, 24 January 2026

A Border Patrol agent shot one person in Minneapolis during an altercation, leaving the individual ‘down’ as medics rush to the scene.

Several law enforcement sources told a Fox News reporter that a Border Patrol agent shot an unidentified person near 26th Street and Nicollet Avenue shortly after 9am Saturday morning, according to a post on X.

This is the third reported shooting in recent weeks involving federal agents in Minneapolis – coming after an ICE officer fatally shot a woman on January 7 and another federal agent wounded a man about a week later.

The person shot went ‘down’ as medics treated them and was reportedly transported to the hospital, according to NewsNation.

Officials have not yet provided any details on who the victim is or what led up to the shooting.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) reportedly told Fox News that the suspect was armed, and the gun has since been recovered by federal authorities.

In a post to X, a Fox correspondent shared a photo of the gun which was seen lying on the passenger seat of a car.

Minneapolis city officials have since addressed the emerging news on X, stating they ‘are aware of reports of another shooting involving federal law enforcement in the area.’

‘We are working to confirm additional details,’ the post read. ‘We ask the public to remain calm and avoid the immediate area.’

Governor Tim Walz also responded on X with a blistering demand directed at President Donald Trump.

‘I just spoke with the White House after another horrific shooting by federal agents this morning. Minnesota has had it. This is sickening,’ Walz wrote.

‘The President must end this operation. Pull the thousands of violent, untrained officers out of Minnesota,’ he added. ‘Now.’

In another statement to X, Senator Amy Klobuchar wrote: ‘There has been another shooting involving federal agents in Minneapolis and I am working to get more information.’

‘To the Trump administration and the Republicans in Congress who have stood silent: Get ICE out of our state NOW,’ she added.

The Daily Mail has reached out to DHS and the Minneapolis Police Department for comment.

    This is a developing story.
