Leicester City winger, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, has seen his stunning solo strike against Charlton Athletic crowned Sky Bet Championship Goal of the Month for August.

The Ghanaian international produced a moment of magic in Leicester’s 1–0 victory on August 23, 2025, cutting inside before unleashing a powerful strike that flew beyond the Charlton goalkeeper.

The goal, which secured all three points for the Foxes, stood out in the monthly shortlist and earned him the fan-voted prize.

For Fatawu, the recognition carries an added layer of pride after his struggles with injuries and limited game time last season. Reflecting on the award, the 21-year-old was full of ecstasy.

“I’m really pleased and very proud to have won Goal of the Month. That goal was special, especially after missing so much football last season. Scoring that winner was a reward for all the effort. I always try to give everything, so it means a lot when I manage to score and help the team,” he said.

The former Sporting CP player, who joined Leicester permanently in 2024 after a successful loan spell, has quickly become a fan favourite at the King Power Stadium.

His pace, flair, and eye for spectacular goals have been central to Leicester’s strong start to the 2025/26 Championship campaign.

With the Foxes aiming for a swift return to the Premier League, Fatawu’s ability to deliver match-winning moments could prove decisive.

For now, his strike against Charlton will be remembered as one of the standout highlights of the early season.
