Black Stars goalkeepers’ trainer, Fatau Dauda, has praised all three goalkeepers called up for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar in March 2025.

Dauda took to X (formerly Twitter) to commend the trio, Benjamin Asare, Lawrence Ati-Zigi, and Jojo Wollacott, for their unity and commitment to the team.

“You guys were amazing in supporting each other. Keep it up, and let’s move forward… I wish you all the best in your remaining games this season,” Dauda wrote.

The Black Stars‘ goalkeeping department became a major talking point after Hearts of Oak’s Benjamin Asare overtook regulars Ati-Zigi and Wollacott to start in both matches against Chad and Madagascar.

Dauda’s message suggests that despite Asare leapfrogging the other two, all the goalkeepers remain focused and committed to the team’s success.

Asare kept two clean sheets in Ghana’s dominant victories, as the Black Stars thrashed Chad 5-0 before defeating Madagascar 3-0.

Following his impressive performances, head coach Otto Addo has officially named Asare as the team’s first-choice goalkeeper.
