A deadly crash on the Accra–Kumasi highway near Asuboi, Suhum in the Eastern Region, has claimed four lives—three men and a woman—and left 17 others injured. According to the Eastern Regional Ghana National Fire Service, the accident happened on Sunday, August 17, when a Sprinter bus (registration number GW-5535-24) traveling from Kumasi to Accra had a rear tyre burst at high speed. The driver lost control, leading to the crash.

Eleven men and six women were injured, while three men and one woman died instantly. The Suhum Municipal Fire Station rushed to the scene after receiving an emergency call. The injured were taken to Suhum Government Hospital for treatment, and the bodies of the deceased were moved to the hospital morgue. The bus was partially damaged in the accident.
