    A young man is reported to be in critical condition after he was run over by a vehicle while attempting to pick up money sprayed by Dancehall artiste Shatta Wale following Medikal’s BYK Concert in Accra.

    The incident, which was captured on video, occurred at the Accra Sports Stadium in the early hours of Sunday, December 14, 2025.

    In the viral video, Shatta Wale, who was in a convoy exiting the venue, was seen spraying cash into the air as fans scrambled to collect the notes.

    The young man was captured running onto the road to pick up some of the GH¢5 notes when he was struck and run over by one of the vehicles believed to be part of the convoy.

    According to reports, he was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment and is currently said to be in critical condition.

    As of the time of filing this report, Shatta Wale’s camp has not issued any public statement regarding the incident.

    Meanwhile, the development has since reignited conversations about crowd control, concert safety, and the growing trend of artistes spraying money at fans.
