The family of the late Ghanaian highlife icon Charles Kwadwo Fosuh, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, has issued a statement addressing widespread speculation surrounding the cause of his death.

In a post shared on the musician’s official Facebook page, the family urged the general public to disregard misleading reports and unfounded commentary about what led to the passing of the legendary artist.

According to the statement, Daddy Lumba peacefully passed away on July 26, 2025, at The Bank Hospital in Accra, where he had been receiving medical attention.

“The hospital officially confirmed his passing at their facility on July 30, 2025,” the statement read.

“We wish to clarify recent reports concerning the passing of our beloved Daddy Lumba. Charles Kwadwo Fosuh, as he is privately known, peacefully passed away at The Bank Hospital in Accra. The hospital’s statement confirmed that no foul play was suspected.”

The post also referenced an official Facebook statement by The Bank Hospital, which verified the artist’s death and confirmed that it occurred naturally, dismissing ongoing rumors of suspicious circumstances.

The family expressed gratitude to fans and well-wishers for their continuous love and support during this difficult period while calling for privacy as they prepare for Daddy Lumba’s final funeral rites.
