The family of the late highlife icon Charles Kwadwo Fosuh, affectionately known as Daddy Lumba, has issued a strong public statement addressing what it describes as widespread misinformation surrounding his funeral arrangements and the status of his widow, Mrs. Akosua Serwah Fosuh.

According to the family, a funeral poster circulating on social media—which lists Mrs. Fosuh alongside another individual as “widow”—was released without her knowledge or approval.

They insist the poster not only misrepresents her status but also features several family names allegedly added “for cosmetic purposes.” The family has urged the public to disregard the poster entirely.

In the statement, the family condemned comments made by entertainment pundit Mr. Kofi Owusu, who suggested on-air that Mrs. Fosuh’s German marriage certificate was an “Ashtown document.”

They described his remarks as “pathetic, uninformed, and hostile,” stressing that the certificate is legally authentic and internationally recognised.

The family further defended their spokesperson, Evangelist Papa Shee, also known as Nana Yaw Akosah.

They clarified that he has been a trusted confidant of the late musician for years and remains fully authorised to speak on behalf of the family. Any claims challenging his mandate, they said, are “false and unfounded.”

While expressing respect for a recent ruling by Her Ladyship Justice Dorinda Smith Arthur regarding aspects of the ongoing family matters, the family noted that they disagree with portions of the judgment.

They indicated plans to seek legal redress to ensure clarity while protecting the dignity of the late artist’s widow and children.

In closing, the family reassured the public—especially Ghanaians living in Germany—of the credibility of German marriage certificates, describing them as “the Mercedes-Benz of marriage certificates.”

They also emphasized their commitment to honouring Daddy Lumba’s memory with transparency, unity, and dignity.
