    El español excampeón del mundo de boxeo Cecilio ‘Uco’ Lastra de 74 años ha fallecido durante la mañana del martes 23 de septiembre en el Hospital Universitario Marqués de Valdecilla de Santander.

    Nació en Santander de Cantabria en 1951 y debutó como boxeador profesional en 1975 y se retiró en 1982 con un récord profesional de 39 victorias (24KOS) 13 derrotas y 2 empates se convirtió en campeón del mundo de la categoría peso pluma de la AMB en 1977 al vencer en 15 asaltos al panameño Rafael Ortega en el pabellón Vicente Trueba de Torrelavega

    Fue Campeón de España en peso pluma en los años 1977, 1979 y 1980

    En abril de 1978 pierde su campeonato del mundo del AMB ante el panameño Eusebio Pedroza quien realizo una racha historia de 20 defensas hasta 1985.

    Lastra forma parte de la historia del deporte de Santander y Cantabria siendo miembro del Museo del Deporte.
