Former striker, Asamoah Gyan has attributed Black Stars‘ lack of trophies to some unnamed evil individuals.

Having won the last trophy in 1982, the senior national team has since struggled despite playing in three finals in 1992, 2010 and 2015 of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

In an Instagram Live session on Thursday, January 2, 2025, Gyan the subject of his time with the Black Stars dominated the conversation.

“There are evil people in this country; That’s why we can’t win anything because of these people,” Gyan, who is the country’s all-time leading goal scorer said.

“They have tarnished Ghana’s reputation with dirt,’’ he added.

Asamoah Gyan featured at the 2006, 2010 and 2014 World Cup in Germany, South Africa and Brazil respectively.

Meanwhile, Ghana, who are four-time African champions will for the first time in two decades not participate in the 2025 AFCON which is scheduled to be hosted in Morocco later this year.
